Optical Instruments

A range of standard instruments has been developed with customers to enable them to guarantee  the manufacturing quality of their products. These instruments use different imaging technologies

Fluted filter rods - combined Infra Red and visible LED illumination to measure flutes and threads in the tobacco industry. These systems have been installed in UK, USA, Thailand, Chile & Singapore using OMRON and JAI cameras.

Oil seal knifed lip angle - using laser imaging the sealing lip knifed angle can be measured without contacting the surface and deforming the edge. These systems were developed for the automotive market and have been installed in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary and the Czech Republic. PC based imaging using Cognex DVT cameras

Internal inspection of casting ports was solved by developing an industrial flexiscope camera by building a miniature Colour CMOS camera with LED lighting into a custom made housing capable of being inserted into a 30 mm diameter engine casting to detect excess flash. The same technology was used for imaging inside the furnace using a cooled CCD CMOS sensor.
