Background and Achievements
Phasor was formed in 1996 by a team of
engineers and technicians covering photonics, digital image
analysis, machine vision and automation. The team brought
together over 25 years experience in developing customer
specific solutions for applications in engineering,
automotive, electronics and pharmaceutical markets.
In 2001 the PC based instrument and machine
vision range was extended to include new technologies in
smart vision sensors from Omron and DVT, this extended sales
into lower cost higher volume automotive sectors leading to
the first of many turnkey seal inspection systems for customers such
as FTP, Dowty and JRD Mouldings.
Expansion into the pharmaceutical and
health care markets was a major step to enable
fully validated CFR compliant systems to be developed and marketed. The
first medical dressing system was installed in 2003 to
detect misplaced swabs in IV dressings. This work formed the
basis for the
extensive range of total dressing inspection
systems now being marketed worldwide.
2005 saw the increase in companies moving
to China and a major Phasor customer Littelfuse moved
our machines to their new plant in Suzhou. R&D developments
continued to enable a further 8 machines to be
built in China plus an ongoing R&D support contract. in 2008
Phasor reached it's £1million of total
export sales and over 200 camera systems sold throughout the world.
